Verra

The Verra story

We started with a question nobody was asking.

Dhananjay & Ridhima Goel built Verra because nobody could tell them what was in the water they washed their food with.

The founding moment.

Most of us have a way of doing things in the kitchen. Rinse an apple before taking a bite. Wash grapes before putting them on the table. Give a glass one last rinse before filling it for someone.

Small things we do without thinking. Often, because that's how we've always seen them done at home.

For Dhananjay and Ridhima, the question began in these everyday moments. They thought about the food they brought home and what they served their family. Then they began thinking about something that was part of almost every step: the water.

We wash things because we care about what touches our food. But what about the water we wash them with?

That question stayed with them.

It wasn't about changing everything they did in the kitchen. It was about giving one familiar part of their routine a little more thought.

And that's where Verra began.

The science.

Dhananjay had already been working on Membrix, a multi-layer water conditioning technology developed under the guidance of Prof. Rohit Karnik (MIT), Verra's Co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor. Now patent pending.

No electricity. No water wastage. A 6-layer filtration process in a system you can fit on your kitchen tap.

The name.

Verra comes from "verrafied" our word for water that has passed through Membrix filtration.

An apple before the first bite. A plate before serving dinner. A bottle before filling it. Different moments, with water in common.

Has your water been verrafied?

A small question we want to bring into everyday kitchens.

No electricity.No water wastage.

Kitchen by Verra fits onto your kitchen tap and works without electricity. No power socket. No separate drainage pipe. Water passes through the Membrix 6-layer filtration process as you use your tap for washing fruits, rinsing ingredients and cleaning everyday kitchenware.

The people behind Verra.

Verra began with a question at home. Bringing it to life took both research and the work of building something people could use every day.

Prof. Rohit Karnik (MIT), Co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor, brings scientific expertise. Dhananjay and Ridhima bring the perspective that started it all: thinking about the water used in their own kitchen, and how to make Verra part of others.

Together, they bring the science and the everyday purpose of Verra closer.
